Traditional Scottish Music that Rocks!
David Brewer and Rebecca Lomnicky in Concert
July 3rd, 7:30 PM, Matheson Performing Arts Center

Multi-instrumentalist David Brewer and fiddler Rebecca Lomnicky will fill the Matheson theater with the sweet sounds of traditional Scottish music on Sunday July 3.

David Brewer is unarguably one of the most energetic and charismatic performers of the Scottish pipes in the world today. Best known as the frontman for the Santa Cruz band Molly‚Äôs Revenge, a perennial favorite at festivals from Sebastopol to Shanghai, he plays Highland bagpipes, smallpipes, whistles, bodhran, and whatever other instrument comes into his hands. His pure joy and passion for playing is evident at every show – he’s even been known to stage-dive from a chair while playing the pipes!

With a list of awards ranging from winning the Junior Division in the 2005 U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Competition to winning the 2009 Glenfiddich International Scottish Fiddle championship, Rebecca Lomnicky has proven talent and style. Her playing “brims over with grace and passion” (FiddleFreak.com).

Together, David & Rebecca bring an exciting synergy of tradition, technique, and enthusiasm to the stage, bridging the gap between modern compositions and the ancient peoples-music of Scotland. This concert will be a rare chance to see two rising stars of the Celtic music scene performing here in Mendocino!

Tickets are available at Harvest Market in Fort Bragg, Out of This World in Mendocino, and online at BrownPaperTickets.com. Net proceeds from this event will be donated to KZYX.
